  • One of them, Zedekiah son of Kenaanah, made some iron horns and proclaimed, "This is what the LORD says: With these horns you will gore the Arameans to death!" - 1 Kings 22:11


  • Then Zedekiah son of Kenaanah walked up to Micaiah and slapped him across the face. "When did the Spirit of the LORD leave me to speak to you?" he demanded. - 1 Kings 22:24


  • Then the king of Babylon installed Mattaniah, Jehoiachin's uncle, as the next king, and he changed Mattaniah's name to Zedekiah. - 2 Kings 24:17


  • Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eleven years. His mother was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah from Libnah. - 2 Kings 24:18


  • But Zedekiah did what was evil in the LORD's sight, just as Jehoiakim had done. - 2 Kings 24:19


  • So the LORD, in his anger, finally banished the people of Jerusalem and Judah from his presence and sent them into exile. Then Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon. - 2 Kings 24:20


  • So on January 15,* during the ninth year of Zedekiah's reign, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon led his entire army against Jerusalem. They surrounded the city and built siege ramps against its walls.1 - 2 Kings 25:1


  • Jerusalem was kept under siege until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah's reign. - 2 Kings 25:2


  • By July 18 of Zedekiah's eleventh year,* the famine in the city had become very severe, with the last of the food entirely gone.2 - 2 Kings 25:3


  • The king of Babylon made Zedekiah watch as all his sons were killed. Then they gouged out Zedekiah's eyes, bound him in bronze chains, and led him away to Babylon. - 2 Kings 25:7


  • The sons of Josiah were Johanan (the oldest), Jehoiakim (the second), Zedekiah (the third), and Jehoahaz* (the fourth).6 - 1 Chronicles 3:15


  • Jehoiakim was succeeded by his son Jehoiachin; he, in turn, was succeeded by his uncle Zedekiah.*7 - 1 Chronicles 3:16

  • In the spring of the following year, Jehoiachin was summoned to Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar. Many treasures from the Temple of the LORD were taken to Babylon at that time. And Nebuchadnezzar appointed Jehoiachin's uncle,* Zedekiah, to be the next king in Judah and Jerusalem.5 - 2 Chronicles 36:10
