(Read Women Part 1 First)

  • On the Sabbath we went a little way outside the city to a riverbank, where we supposed that some people met for prayer, and we sat down to speak with some women who had come together. - Acts 16:13

  • Some who listened were persuaded and became converts, including a large number of godly Greek men and also many important women of the city.*1 - Acts 17:4

  • As a result, many Jews believed, as did some of the prominent Greek women and many men. - Acts 17:12

  • And I persecuted the followers of the Way, hounding some to death, binding and delivering both men and women to prison. - Acts 22:4

  • That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. - Romans 1:26

  • And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved. - Romans 1:27

  • Now, about the young women who are not yet married. I do not have a command from the Lord for them. But the Lord in his kindness has given me wisdom that can be trusted, and I will share it with you. - 1 Corinthians 7:25

  • But in relationships among the Lord's people, women are not independent of men, and men are not independent of women. - 1 Corinthians 11:11

  • For although the first woman came from man, all men have been born from women ever since, and everything comes from God. - 1 Corinthians 11:12

  • Women should be silent during the church meetings. It is not proper for them to speak. They should be submissive, just as the law says. - 1 Corinthians 14:34

  • If they have any questions to ask, let them ask their husbands at home, for it is improper for women to speak in church meetings.*2 - 1 Corinthians 14:35

  • Now these two women serve as an illustration of God's two covenants. Hagar, the slave-wife, represents Mount Sinai where people first became enslaved to the law. - Galatians 4:24

  • That is what Isaiah meant when he prophesied, "Rejoice, O childless woman! Break forth into loud and joyful song, even though you never gave birth to a child. For the woman who could bear no children now has more than all the other women!"*6 - Galatians 4:27

  • And now I want to plead with those two women, Euodia and Syntyche. Please, because you belong to the Lord, settle your disagreement. - Philippians 4:2

  • And I ask you, my true teammate,* to help these women, for they worked hard with me in telling others the Good News. And they worked with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are written in the Book of Life.2 - Philippians 4:3

  • And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes. - 1 Timothy 2:9

  • For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do. - 1 Timothy 2:10
