(Read Water Part 1 First)

  • Blind guides! You strain your water so you won't accidentally swallow a gnat; then you swallow a camel! - Matthew 23:24

  • Pilate saw that he wasn't getting anywhere and that a riot was developing. So he sent for a bowl of water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this man. The responsibility is yours!" - Matthew 27:24

  • I baptize you with* water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit!"6 - Mark 1:8

  • And when Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens split open and the Holy Spirit descending like a dove on him. - Mark 1:10

  • But soon a fierce storm arose. High waves began to break into the boat until it was nearly full of water. - Mark 4:37

  • Similarly, they eat nothing bought from the market unless they have immersed their hands in water. This is but one of many traditions they have clung to--such as their ceremony of washing cups, pitchers, and kettles.*)2 - Mark 7:4

  • The evil spirit often makes him fall into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us. Do something if you can." - Mark 9:22

  • If anyone gives you even a cup of water because you belong to the Messiah, I assure you, that person will be rewarded. - Mark 9:41

  • So Jesus sent two of them into Jerusalem to make the arrangements. "As you go into the city," he told them, "a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him. - Mark 14:13

  • John answered their questions by saying, "I baptize with* water; but someone is coming soon who is greater than I am--so much greater that I am not even worthy to be his slave.* He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.*6 - Luke 3:16

  • He noticed two empty boats at the water's edge, for the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets. - Luke 5:2

  • Stepping into one of the boats, Jesus asked Simon,* its owner, to push it out into the water. So he sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there.2 - Luke 5:3

  • Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, "Look at this woman kneeling here. When I entered your home, you didn't offer me water to wash the dust from my feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. - Luke 7:44
