  • That day Gad came to David and said to him, "Go and build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite." - 2 Samuel 24:18


  • "Why have you come, my lord?" Araunah asked. And David replied, "I have come to buy your threshing floor and to build an altar to the LORD there, so that the LORD will stop the plague." - 2 Samuel 24:21


  • "Take it, my lord, and use it as you wish," Araunah said to David. "Here are oxen for the burnt offering, and you can use the threshing tools and ox yokes for wood to build a fire on the altar. - 2 Samuel 24:22


  • But the king replied to Araunah, "No, I insist on buying it, for I cannot present burnt offerings to the LORD my God that have cost me nothing." So David paid him fifty pieces of silver* for the threshing floor and the oxen.3 - 2 Samuel 24:24


  • King Ahab of Israel and King Jehoshaphat of Judah, dressed in their royal robes, were sitting on thrones at the threshing floor near the gate of Samaria. All of Ahab's prophets were prophesying there in front of them. - 1 Kings 22:10


  • But when they arrived at the threshing floor of Nacon,* the oxen stumbled, and Uzzah put out his hand to steady the Ark.2 - 1 Chronicles 13:9


  • And God sent an angel to destroy Jerusalem. But just as the angel was preparing to destroy it, the LORD relented and said to the death angel, "Stop! That is enough!" At that moment the angel of the LORD was standing by the threshing floor of Araunah* the Jebusite.1 - 1 Chronicles 21:15


  • Then the angel of the LORD told Gad to instruct David to build an altar to the LORD at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. - 1 Chronicles 21:18


  • Araunah, who was busy threshing wheat at the time, turned and saw the angel there. His four sons, who were with him, ran away and hid. - 1 Chronicles 21:20


  • When Araunah saw the king approaching, he left his threshing floor and bowed to the ground before David. - 1 Chronicles 21:21


  • David said to Araunah, "Let me buy this threshing floor from you at its full price. Then I will build an altar to the LORD there, so that he will stop the plague." - 1 Chronicles 21:22


  • "Take it, my lord, and use it as you wish," Araunah said to David. "Here are oxen for the burnt offerings, and you can use the threshing tools for wood to build a fire on the altar. And take the wheat for the grain offering. I will give it all to you." - 1 Chronicles 21:23


  • So David gave Araunah six hundred pieces of gold* in payment for the threshing floor.1 - 1 Chronicles 21:25


  • When David saw that the LORD had answered his prayer, he offered sacrifices there at Araunah's threshing floor. - 1 Chronicles 21:28


  • So Solomon began to build the Temple of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to Solomon's father, King David. The Temple was built on the threshing floor of Araunah* the Jebusite, the site that David had selected.1 - 2 Chronicles 3:1
