(Read Suffering Part 1 First)

  • So we have been greatly comforted, dear brothers and sisters,* in all of our own crushing troubles and suffering, because you have remained strong in your faith.1 - 1 Thessalonians 3:7


  • We proudly tell God's other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering. - 2 Thessalonians 1:4


  • But God will use this persecution to show his justice. For he will make you worthy of his Kingdom, for which you are suffering, - 2 Thessalonians 1:5


  • And that is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him* until the day of his return.1 - 2 Timothy 1:12


  • Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. - 2 Timothy 2:3


  • And because I preach this Good News, I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal. But the word of God cannot be chained. - 2 Timothy 2:9

  • Since he himself has gone through suffering and temptation, he is able to help us when we are being tempted. - Hebrews 2:18


  • Don't ever forget those early days when you first learned about Christ. Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering. - Hebrews 10:32

  • For examples of patience in suffering, dear brothers and sisters, look at the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. - James 5:10


  • We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. Job is an example of a man who endured patiently. From his experience we see how the Lord's plan finally ended in good, for he is full of tenderness and mercy. - James 5:11


  • Are any among you suffering? They should keep on praying about it. And those who have reason to be thankful should continually sing praises to the Lord. - James 5:13


  • They wondered what the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ's suffering and his great glory afterward. They wondered when and to whom all this would happen. - 1 Peter 1:11


  • This suffering is all part of what God has called you to. Christ, who suffered for you, is your example. Follow in his steps. - 1 Peter 2:21
