  • God has given gifts to each of you from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Manage them well so that God's generosity can flow through you. - 1 Peter 4:10


  • Be happy if you are insulted for being a Christian, for then the glorious Spirit of God will come upon you. - 1 Peter 4:14


  • or because they wanted to prophesy. It was the Holy Spirit who moved the prophets to speak from God. - 2 Peter 1:21


  • So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness. We are not living in the truth. - 1 John 1:6


  • But you are not like that, for the Holy Spirit has come upon you,* and all of you know the truth.4 - 1 John 2:20


  • But you have received the Holy Spirit,* and he lives within you, so you don't need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you all things, and what he teaches is true--it is not a lie. So continue in what he has taught you, and continue to live in Christ.5 - 1 John 2:27


  • Those who obey God's commandments live in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Holy Spirit lives in us. - 1 John 3:24


  • Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. - 1 John 4:1


  • This is the way to find out if they have the Spirit of God: If a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ became a human being, that person has the Spirit of God. - 1 John 4:2


  • If a prophet does not acknowledge Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist. You have heard that he is going to come into the world, and he is already here. - 1 John 4:3


  • But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won your fight with these false prophets, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. - 1 John 4:4


  • But we belong to God; that is why those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception. - 1 John 4:6


  • And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. - 1 John 4:13


  • And Jesus Christ was revealed as God's Son by his baptism in water and by shedding his blood on the cross*--not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit also gives us the testimony that this is true.1 - 1 John 5:6


  • the Spirit, the water, and the blood--and all three agree. - 1 John 5:8


  • Now they are here, and they are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They live by natural instinct because they do not have God's Spirit living in them. - 2 John 1:19


  • But you, dear friends, must continue to build your lives on the foundation of your holy faith. And continue to pray as you are directed by the Holy Spirit.*7 - 2 John 1:20
