(Read Speaking Part 1 First)

  • And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages,* as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.2 - Acts 2:4

  • Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What were his experiences concerning this question of being saved by faith? - Romans 4:1

  • God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out when you have faith that God is speaking through you. - Romans 12:6

  • Wasn't he also speaking to us? Of course he was. Just as farm workers who plow fields and thresh the grain expect a share of the harvest, Christian workers should be paid by those they serve. - 1 Corinthians 9:10

  • So I want you to know how to discern what is truly from God: No one speaking by the Spirit of God can curse Jesus, and no one is able to say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. - 1 Corinthians 12:3

  • He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and to another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to know whether it is really the Spirit of God or another spirit that is speaking. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages,* and another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.2 - 1 Corinthians 12:10

  • Love will last forever, but prophecy and speaking in unknown languages* and special knowledge will all disappear.3 - 1 Corinthians 13:8
