(Read Simon Part 1 First)

  • Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus. Looking intently at Simon, Jesus said, "You are Simon, the son of John--but you will be called Cephas" (which means Peter*).1 - John 1:42

  • Then Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, spoke up. - John 6:8

  • Simon Peter replied, "Lord, to whom would we go? You alone have the words that give eternal life. - John 6:68

  • He was speaking of Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, one of the Twelve, who would betray him. - John 6:71

  • It was time for supper, and the Devil had already enticed Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, to carry out his plan to betray Jesus. - John 13:2

  • When he came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, "Lord, why are you going to wash my feet?" - John 13:6

  • Simon Peter exclaimed, "Then wash my hands and head as well, Lord, not just my feet!" - John 13:9

  • Simon Peter motioned to him to ask who would do this terrible thing. - John 13:24

  • Jesus said, "It is the one to whom I give the bread dipped in the sauce." And when he had dipped it, he gave it to Judas, son of Simon Iscariot. - John 13:26

  • Simon Peter said, "Lord, where are you going?" And Jesus replied, "You can't go with me now, but you will follow me later." - John 13:36

  • Then Simon Peter drew a sword and slashed off the right ear of Malchus, the high priest's servant. - John 18:10

  • Simon Peter followed along behind, as did another of the disciples. That other disciple was acquainted with the high priest, so he was allowed to enter the courtyard with Jesus. - John 18:15

  • Meanwhile, as Simon Peter was standing by the fire, they asked him again, "Aren't you one of his disciples?" "I am not," he said. - John 18:25

  • She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, "They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put him!" - John 20:2

  • Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, - John 20:6

  • Simon Peter said, "I'm going fishing." "We'll come, too," they all said. So they went out in the boat, but they caught nothing all night. - John 21:3

  • Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his tunic (for he had stripped for work), jumped into the water, and swam ashore. - John 21:7
