  • Arphaxad was the father of Shelah,* and Shelah was the father of Eber.7 - Genesis 10:24


  • When Arphaxad was 35 years old, his son Shelah was born.*3 - Genesis 11:12


  • After the birth of Shelah, Arphaxad lived another 403 years and had other sons and daughters.*4 - Genesis 11:13


  • When Shelah was 30 years old, his son Eber was born. - Genesis 11:14


  • After the birth of Eber, Shelah lived another 403 years and had other sons and daughters. - Genesis 11:15


  • And when she had a third son, she named him Shelah. At the time of Shelah's birth, they were living at Kezib. - Genesis 38:5


  • Then Judah told Tamar, his daughter-in-law, not to marry again at that time but to return to her parents' home. She was to remain a widow until his youngest son, Shelah, was old enough to marry her. (But Judah didn't really intend to do this because he was afraid Shelah would also die, like his two brothers.) So Tamar went home to her parents. - Genesis 38:11


  • Tamar was aware that Shelah had grown up, but they had not called her to come and marry him. So she changed out of her widow's clothing and covered herself with a veil to disguise herself. Then she sat beside the road at the entrance to the village of Enaim, which is on the way to Timnah. - Genesis 38:14


  • Judah admitted that they were his and said, "She is more in the right than I am, because I didn't keep my promise to let her marry my son Shelah." But Judah never slept with Tamar again. - Genesis 38:26


  • The sons of Judah were Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah. (But Er and Onan had died in the land of Canaan.) The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul. - Genesis 46:12


  • But the following clans descended from Judah's surviving sons: The Shelanite clan, named after its ancestor Shelah. The Perezite clan, named after its ancestor Perez. The Zerahite clan, named after its ancestor Zerah. - Numbers 26:20


  • Arphaxad was the father of Shelah. Shelah was the father of Eber. - 1 Chronicles 1:18


  • So this is the family line descended from Shem: Arphaxad, Shelah,*7 - 1 Chronicles 1:24


  • Judah had three sons through Bathshua, a Canaanite woman. Their names were Er, Onan, and Shelah. But the oldest son, Er, was a wicked man, so the LORD killed him. - 1 Chronicles 2:3


  • Shelah was one of Judah's sons. The descendants of Shelah were Er (the father of Lecah), Laadah (the father of Mareshah), the families of linen workers at Beth-ashbea, - 1 Chronicles 4:21
