(Read Shame Part 1 First)

  • This shamed his enemies. And all the people rejoiced at the wonderful things he did. - Luke 13:17

  • He will be handed over to the Romans to be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit upon. - Luke 18:32

  • So the owner sent another servant, but the same thing happened; he was beaten up and treated shamefully, and he went away empty-handed. - Luke 20:11

  • But they shamelessly cheat widows out of their property, and then, to cover up the kind of people they really are, they make long prayers in public. Because of this, their punishment will be the greater." - Luke 20:47

  • So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. - Romans 1:24

  • That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. - Romans 1:26

  • And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved. - Romans 1:27

  • Instead, God deliberately chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose those who are powerless to shame those who are powerful. - 1 Corinthians 1:27

  • I am not writing these things to shame you, but to warn you as my beloved children. - 1 Corinthians 4:14

  • And you are so proud of yourselves! Why aren't you mourning in sorrow and shame? And why haven't you removed this man from your fellowship? - 1 Corinthians 5:2

  • I am saying this to shame you. Isn't there anyone in all the church who is wise enough to decide these arguments? - 1 Corinthians 6:5

  • Yes, if she refuses to wear a head covering, she should cut off all her hair. And since it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or her head shaved, then she should wear a covering.*3 - 1 Corinthians 11:6

  • What? Is this really true? Don't you have your own homes for eating and drinking? Or do you really want to disgrace the church of God and shame the poor? What am I supposed to say about these things? Do you want me to praise you? Well, I certainly do not! - 1 Corinthians 11:22

  • Come to your senses and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don't even know God. - 1 Corinthians 15:34

  • We reject all shameful and underhanded methods. We do not try to trick anyone, and we do not distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know that. - 2 Corinthians 4:2

  • I may seem to be boasting too much about the authority given to us by the Lord. But this authority is to build you up, not to tear you down. And I will not be put to shame by having my work among you destroyed. - 2 Corinthians 10:8

  • It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. - Ephesians 5:12
