(Read Scriptures Part 1 First)

  • Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them. - 1 Timothy 4:13

  • You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. - 2 Timothy 3:15

  • For somewhere in the Scriptures it says, "What is man that you should think of him, and the son of man* that you should care for him?2 - Hebrews 2:6

  • We know it is ready because the Scriptures mention the seventh day, saying, "On the seventh day God rested from all his work."*3 - Hebrews 4:4

  • You have been Christians a long time now, and you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things a beginner must learn about the Scriptures.* You are like babies who drink only milk and cannot eat solid food.3 - Hebrews 5:12

  • Then I said, `Look, I have come to do your will, O God-- just as it is written about me in the Scriptures.' "*3 - Hebrews 10:7

  • Yes indeed, it is good when you truly obey our Lord's royal command found in the Scriptures: "Love your neighbor as yourself."*3 - James 2:8

  • And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: "Abraham believed God, so God declared him to be righteous."* He was even called "the friend of God."*5 - James 2:23

  • What do you think the Scriptures mean when they say that the Holy Spirit, whom God has placed within us, jealously longs for us to be faithful*?1 - James 4:5

  • He gives us more and more strength to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say, "God sets himself against the proud, but he shows favor to the humble."*2 - James 4:6

  • As the Scriptures express it, "I am placing a stone in Jerusalem,* a chosen cornerstone, and anyone who believes in him will never be disappointed.*"1 - 1 Peter 2:6

  • And the Scriptures also say, "He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that will make them fall."* They stumble because they do not listen to God's word or obey it, and so they meet the fate that has been planned for them.3 - 1 Peter 2:8

  • For the Scriptures say, "If you want a happy life and good days, keep your tongue from speaking evil, and keep your lips from telling lies.1 - 1 Peter 3:10
