(Read Scriptures Part 1 First)

  • No, God has not rejected his own people, whom he chose from the very beginning. Do you remember what the Scriptures say about this? Elijah the prophet complained to God about the people of Israel and said, - Romans 11:2

  • As the Scriptures say, "God has put them into a deep sleep. To this very day he has shut their eyes so they do not see, and closed their ears so they do not hear."*4 - Romans 11:8

  • Instead, do what the Scriptures say: "If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink, and they will be ashamed of what they have done to you."*4 - Romans 12:20

  • For the Scriptures say, " `As surely as I live,' says the Lord, `every knee will bow to me and every tongue will confess allegiance to God.' "*2 - Romans 14:11

  • For even Christ didn't please himself. As the Scriptures say, "Those who insult you are also insulting me."*1 - Romans 15:3

  • Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. They give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises. - Romans 15:4

  • I have been following the plan spoken of in the Scriptures, where it says, "Those who have never been told about him will see, and those who have never heard of him will understand."*8 - Romans 15:21

  • As the Scriptures say, "I will destroy human wisdom and discard their most brilliant ideas."*3 - 1 Corinthians 1:19

  • As the Scriptures say, "The person who wishes to boast should boast only of what the Lord has done."*1 - 1 Corinthians 1:31

  • That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him."*3 - 1 Corinthians 2:9

  • For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, "God catches those who think they are wise in their own cleverness."*4 - 1 Corinthians 3:19

  • Dear brothers and sisters,* I have used Apollos and myself to illustrate what I've been saying. If you pay attention to the Scriptures,* you won't brag about one of your leaders at the expense of another.1 - 1 Corinthians 4:6

  • God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, "You must remove the evil person from among you."*8 - 1 Corinthians 5:13

  • And don't you know that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say, "The two are united into one."*4 - 1 Corinthians 6:16

  • or worship idols as some of them did. For the Scriptures say, "The people celebrated with feasting and drinking, and they indulged themselves in pagan revelry."*3 - 1 Corinthians 10:7

  • It is written in the Scriptures,* "I will speak to my own people through unknown languages and through the lips of foreigners. But even then, they will not listen to me,"* says the Lord.4 - 1 Corinthians 14:21

  • I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me--that Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. - 1 Corinthians 15:3
