(Read Scriptures Part 1 First)

  • Jesus responded, "The Scriptures also say, `Do not test the Lord your God.'* "5 - Luke 4:12

  • When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures. - Luke 4:16

  • Jesus replied, "Haven't you ever read in the Scriptures what King David did when he and his companions were hungry? - Luke 6:3

  • Then Jesus quoted passages from the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining what all the Scriptures said about himself. - Luke 24:27

  • They said to each other, "Didn't our hearts feel strangely warm as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?" - Luke 24:32

  • Then he opened their minds to understand these many Scriptures. - Luke 24:45

  • Then his disciples remembered this prophecy from the Scriptures: "Passion for God's house burns within me."*3 - John 2:17

  • After he was raised from the dead, the disciples remembered that he had said this. And they believed both Jesus and the Scriptures. - John 2:22

  • "You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! - John 5:39

  • After all, our ancestors ate manna while they journeyed through the wilderness! As the Scriptures say, `Moses gave them bread from heaven to eat.'* "4 - John 6:31

  • As it is written in the Scriptures, `They will all be taught by God.'* Everyone who hears and learns from the Father comes to me.2 - John 6:45
