(Read River Part 1 First)

  • Many waters cannot quench love; neither can rivers drown it. If a man tried to buy love with everything he owned, his offer would be utterly despised." [The Young Woman's Brothers:] - Song of Solomon 8:7

  • Therefore, the Lord will overwhelm them with a mighty flood from the Euphrates River*--the king of Assyria and all his mighty armies.3 - Isaiah 8:7

  • The LORD will make a dry path through the Red Sea.* He will wave his hand over the Euphrates River,* sending a mighty wind to divide it into seven streams that can easily be crossed.5 - Isaiah 11:15

  • and ambassadors are sent in fast boats down the Nile. Go home, swift messengers! Take a message to your land divided by rivers, to your tall, smooth-skinned people, who are feared far and wide for their conquests and destruction. - Isaiah 18:2

  • But the time will come when the LORD Almighty will receive gifts from this land divided by rivers, from this tall, smooth-skinned people, who are feared far and wide for their conquests and destruction. They will bring the gifts to the LORD Almighty in Jerusalem,* the place where his name dwells.2 - Isaiah 18:7

  • I will level the mountains and hills and bring a blight on all their greenery. I will turn the rivers into dry land and will dry up all the pools. - Isaiah 42:15

  • When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. - Isaiah 43:2
