  • Don't forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders by birth. You were called "the uncircumcised ones" by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts. - Ephesians 2:11


  • Hold tightly to the word of life, so that when Christ returns, I will be proud that I did not lose the race and that my work was not useless. - Philippians 2:16


  • Don't let anyone condemn you by insisting on self-denial. And don't let anyone say you must worship angels, even though they say they have had visions about this. These people claim to be so humble, but their sinful minds have made them proud. - Colossians 2:18


  • After all, what gives us hope and joy, and what is our proud reward and crown? It is you! Yes, you will bring us much joy as we stand together before our Lord Jesus when he comes back again. - 1 Thessalonians 2:19


  • We proudly tell God's other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering. - 2 Thessalonians 1:4


  • An elder must not be a new Christian, because he might be proud of being chosen so soon, and the Devil will use that pride to make him fall.*3 - 1 Timothy 3:6


  • Tell those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which will soon be gone. But their trust should be in the living God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. - 1 Timothy 6:17


  • For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. - 2 Timothy 3:2


  • He gives us more and more strength to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say, "God sets himself against the proud, but he shows favor to the humble."*2 - James 4:6


  • You younger men, accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, serve each other in humility, for "God sets himself against the proud, but he shows favor to the humble."*1 - 1 Peter 5:5


  • He is especially hard on those who follow their own evil, lustful desires and who despise authority. These people are proud and arrogant, daring even to scoff at the glorious ones* without so much as trembling.2 - 2 Peter 2:10
