  • They became prostitutes in Egypt. Even as young girls, they allowed themselves to be fondled and caressed. - Ezekiel 23:3


  • And so she prostituted herself with the most desirable men of Assyria, worshiping their idols and defiling herself. - Ezekiel 23:7


  • But that didn't bother her. She turned to even greater prostitution, remembering her youth when she was a prostitute in Egypt. - Ezekiel 23:19


  • Then I said, `If they really want to sleep with worn-out, old prostitutes like these, let them!' - Ezekiel 23:43


  • And that is what they did. They slept with Oholah and Oholibah, these shameless prostitutes, with all the zest of lustful young men. - Ezekiel 23:44


  • When the LORD first began speaking to Israel through Hosea, he said to him, "Go and marry a prostitute,* so some of her children will be born to you from other men. This will illustrate the way my people have been untrue to me, openly committing adultery against the LORD by worshiping other gods."2 - Hosea 1:2


  • "But now, call Israel* to account, for she is no longer my wife, and I am no longer her husband. Tell her to take off her garish makeup and suggestive clothing and to stop playing the prostitute.1 - Hosea 2:2


  • For their mother is a shameless prostitute and became pregnant in a shameful way. She said, `I'll run after other lovers and sell myself to them for food and drink, for clothing of wool and linen, and for olive oil.' - Hosea 2:5


  • They will eat and still be hungry. Though they do a big business as prostitutes, they will have no children, for they have deserted the LORD to worship other gods. - Hosea 4:10


  • They are asking a piece of wood to tell them what to do! They think a stick can tell them the future! Longing after idols has made them foolish. They have played the prostitute, serving other gods and deserting their God. - Hosea 4:12


  • Why should I punish them? For you men are doing the same thing, sinning with whores and shrine prostitutes. O foolish people! You will be destroyed, for you refuse to understand. - Hosea 4:14


  • "Though Israel is a prostitute, may Judah avoid such guilt. O Judah, do not join with those who worship me insincerely at Gilgal and at Beth-aven.* Their worship is mere pretense as they take oaths in the LORD's name.3 - Hosea 4:15


  • The men of Israel finish up their drinking bouts and off they go to find some prostitutes. Their love for shame is greater than their love for honor.*4 - Hosea 4:18


  • I know what you are like, O Israel! You have left me as a prostitute leaves her husband; you are utterly defiled. - Hosea 5:3


  • Your deeds won't let you return to your God. You are a prostitute through and through, and you cannot know the LORD. - Hosea 5:4


  • O people of Israel, do not rejoice as others do. For you have been unfaithful to your God, hiring yourselves out like prostitutes, offering sacrifices to other gods on every threshing floor. - Hosea 9:1


  • They cast lots to decide which of my people would be their slaves. They traded young boys for prostitutes and little girls for enough wine to get drunk. - Joel 3:3
