(Read Prayer Part 1 First)

  • She was now eighty-four years old. She never left the Temple but stayed there day and night, worshiping God with fasting and prayer. - Luke 2:37

  • But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer. - Luke 5:16

  • He told them, "The Scriptures declare, `My Temple will be a place of prayer,' but you have turned it into a den of thieves."*2 - Luke 19:46

  • But they shamelessly cheat widows out of their property, and then, to cover up the kind of people they really are, they make long prayers in public. Because of this, their punishment will be the greater." - Luke 20:47

  • "My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you. - John 17:9

  • My prayer for all of them is that they will be one, just as you and I are one, Father--that just as you are in me and I am in you, so they will be in us, and the world will believe you sent me. - John 17:21

  • They all met together continually for prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus. - Acts 1:14

  • They joined with the other believers and devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, sharing in the Lord's Supper and in prayer. - Acts 2:42

  • Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o'clock prayer service. - Acts 3:1

  • Then all the believers were united as they lifted their voices in prayer: "O Sovereign Lord, Creator of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them-- - Acts 4:24

  • After this prayer, the building where they were meeting shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. And they preached God's message with boldness. - Acts 4:31

  • Then we can spend our time in prayer and preaching and teaching the word." - Acts 6:4

  • Cornelius stared at him in terror. "What is it, sir?" he asked the angel. And the angel replied, "Your prayers and gifts to the poor have not gone unnoticed by God! - Acts 10:4

  • He told me, `Cornelius, your prayers have been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been noticed by God! - Acts 10:31
