He went down to the town of Ashkelon, killed thirty men, took their belongings, and gave their clothing to the men who had answered his riddle. But Samson was furious about what had happened, and he went back home to live with his father and mother. - Judges 14:19


  • As Samson arrived at Lehi, the Philistines came shouting in triumph. But the Spirit of the LORD powerfully took control of Samson, and he snapped the ropes on his arms as if they were burnt strands of flax, and they fell from his wrists. - Judges 15:14


  • When the people saw him, they praised their god, saying, "Our god has delivered our enemy to us! The one who killed so many of us is now in our power!" - Judges 16:24


  • So the Philistines were subdued and didn't invade Israel again for a long time. And throughout Samuel's lifetime, the LORD's powerful hand was raised against the Philistines. - 1 Samuel 7:13


  • At that time the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you with power, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person. - 1 Samuel 10:6


  • "Now's your opportunity!" David's men whispered to him. "Today is the day the LORD was talking about when he said, `I will certainly put Saul into your power, to do with as you wish.' " Then David crept forward and cut off a piece of Saul's robe. - 1 Samuel 24:4


  • May the LORD judge which of us is right and punish the guilty one. He is my advocate, and he will rescue me from your power!" - 1 Samuel 24:15


  • Who else would let his enemy get away when he had him in his power? May the LORD reward you well for the kindness you have shown me today. - 1 Samuel 24:19


  • The LORD gives his own reward for doing good and for being loyal, and I refused to kill you even when the LORD placed you in my power, for you are the LORD's anointed one. - 1 Samuel 26:23
