(Read Power Part 1 First)

  • Obey the government, for God is the one who put it there. All governments have been placed in power by God. - Romans 13:1

  • Who are you to condemn God's servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let him tell them whether they are right or wrong. The Lord's power will help them do as they should. - Romans 14:4

  • So I pray that God, who gives you hope, will keep you happy and full of peace as you believe in him. May you overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. - Romans 15:13

  • I have won them over by the miracles done through me as signs from God--all by the power of God's Spirit. In this way, I have fully presented the Good News of Christ all the way from Jerusalem clear over into Illyricum.*7 - Romans 15:19

  • For Christ didn't send me to baptize, but to preach the Good News--and not with clever speeches and high-sounding ideas, for fear that the cross of Christ would lose its power. - 1 Corinthians 1:17

  • I know very well how foolish the message of the cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction. But we who are being saved recognize this message as the very power of God. - 1 Corinthians 1:18

  • But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles,* Christ is the mighty power of God and the wonderful wisdom of God.4 - 1 Corinthians 1:24

  • Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world's eyes, or powerful, or wealthy when God called you. - 1 Corinthians 1:26

  • Instead, God deliberately chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose those who are powerless to shame those who are powerful. - 1 Corinthians 1:27

  • And my message and my preaching were very plain. I did not use wise and persuasive speeches, but the Holy Spirit was powerful among you. - 1 Corinthians 2:4

  • I did this so that you might trust the power of God rather than human wisdom. - 1 Corinthians 2:5

  • Our dedication to Christ makes us look like fools, but you are so wise! We are weak, but you are so powerful! You are well thought of, but we are laughed at. - 1 Corinthians 4:10

  • But I will come--and soon--if the Lord will let me, and then I'll find out whether these arrogant people are just big talkers or whether they really have God's power. - 1 Corinthians 4:19

  • For the Kingdom of God is not just fancy talk; it is living by God's power. - 1 Corinthians 4:20

  • in the name of the Lord Jesus. You are to call a meeting of the church,* and I will be there in spirit, and the power of the Lord Jesus will be with you as you meet.2 - 1 Corinthians 5:4

  • And God will raise our bodies from the dead by his marvelous power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead. - 1 Corinthians 6:14

  • And remember, if you were a slave when the Lord called you, the Lord has now set you free from the awful power of sin. And if you were free when the Lord called you, you are now a slave of Christ. - 1 Corinthians 7:22
