  • Paul realized that some members of the high council were Sadducees and some were Pharisees, so he shouted, "Brothers, I am a Pharisee, as were all my ancestors! And I am on trial because my hope is in the resurrection of the dead!" - Acts 23:6

  • This divided the council--the Pharisees against the Sadducees-- - Acts 23:7

  • for the Sadducees say there is no resurrection or angels or spirits, but the Pharisees believe in all of these. - Acts 23:8

  • So a great clamor arose. Some of the teachers of religious law who were Pharisees jumped up to argue that Paul was all right. "We see nothing wrong with him," they shouted. "Perhaps a spirit or an angel spoke to him." - Acts 23:9

  • But when he saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming to be baptized, he denounced them. "You brood of snakes!" he exclaimed. "Who warned you to flee God's coming judgment? - Matthew 3:7

  • "But I warn you--unless you obey God better than the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees do, you can't enter the Kingdom of Heaven at all! - Matthew 5:20

  • The Pharisees were indignant. "Why does your teacher eat with such scum*?" they asked his disciples.1 - Matthew 9:11

  • One day the disciples of John the Baptist came to Jesus and asked him, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don't fast?" - Matthew 9:14

  • But the Pharisees said, "He can cast out demons because he is empowered by the prince of demons." - Matthew 9:34

  • Some Pharisees saw them do it and protested, "Your disciples shouldn't be doing that! It's against the law to work by harvesting grain on the Sabbath." - Matthew 12:2

  • where he noticed a man with a deformed hand. The Pharisees asked Jesus, "Is it legal to work by healing on the Sabbath day?" (They were, of course, hoping he would say yes, so they could bring charges against him.) - Matthew 12:10

  • Then the Pharisees called a meeting and discussed plans for killing Jesus. - Matthew 12:14

  • But when the Pharisees heard about the miracle, they said, "No wonder he can cast out demons. He gets his power from Satan,* the prince of demons."6 - Matthew 12:24

  • One day some teachers of religious law and Pharisees came to Jesus and said, "Teacher, we want you to show us a miraculous sign to prove that you are from God." - Matthew 12:38

  • Some Pharisees and teachers of religious law now arrived from Jerusalem to interview Jesus. - Matthew 15:1
