  • But some Pharisees said, "You shouldn't be doing that! It's against the law to work by harvesting grain on the Sabbath." - Luke 6:2


  • The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees watched closely to see whether Jesus would heal the man on the Sabbath, because they were eager to find some legal charge to bring against him. - Luke 6:7


  • But the Pharisees and experts in religious law had rejected God's plan for them, for they had refused John's baptism. - Luke 7:30


  • One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to come to his home for a meal, so Jesus accepted the invitation and sat down to eat. - Luke 7:36


  • As Jesus was speaking, one of the Pharisees invited him home for a meal. So he went in and took his place at the table. - Luke 11:37


  • Then the Lord said to him, "You Pharisees are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are still filthy--full of greed and wickedness! - Luke 11:39


  • "But how terrible it will be for you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income,* but you completely forget about justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things.2 - Luke 11:42


  • "How terrible it will be for you Pharisees! For how you love the seats of honor in the synagogues and the respectful greetings from everyone as you walk through the markets! - Luke 11:43


  • As Jesus finished speaking, the Pharisees and teachers of religious law were furious. From that time on they grilled him with many hostile questions, - Luke 11:53


  • Meanwhile, the crowds grew until thousands were milling about and crushing each other. Jesus turned first to his disciples and warned them, "Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees--beware of their hypocrisy. - Luke 12:1


  • A few minutes later some Pharisees said to him, "Get out of here if you want to live, because Herod Antipas wants to kill you!" - Luke 13:31


  • One Sabbath day Jesus was in the home of a leader of the Pharisees. The people were watching him closely, - Luke 14:1


  • Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in religious law, "Well, is it permitted in the law to heal people on the Sabbath day, or not?" - Luke 14:3


  • This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such despicable people--even eating with them! - Luke 15:2


  • The Pharisees, who dearly loved their money, naturally scoffed at all this. - Luke 16:14


  • One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, "When will the Kingdom of God come?" Jesus replied, "The Kingdom of God isn't ushered in with visible signs.*2 - Luke 17:20


  • But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, "Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!" - Luke 19:39
