(Read Pharaoh Part 1 First)

  • Pharaoh Neco put Jehoahaz in prison at Riblah in the land of Hamath to prevent him from ruling from Jerusalem. He also demanded that Judah pay 7,500 pounds of silver and 75 pounds of gold* as tribute.1 - 2 Kings 23:33

  • Pharaoh Neco then installed Eliakim, another of Josiah's sons, to reign in place of his father, and he changed Eliakim's name to Jehoiakim. Jehoahaz was taken to Egypt as a prisoner, where he died. - 2 Kings 23:34

  • In order to get the silver and gold demanded as tribute by Pharaoh Neco, Jehoiakim collected a tax from the people of Judah, requiring them to pay in proportion to their wealth. - 2 Kings 23:35

  • Solomon moved his wife, Pharaoh's daughter, from the City of David to the new palace he had built for her. He said, "My wife must not live in King David's palace, for the Ark of the LORD has been there, and it is holy ground." - 2 Chronicles 8:11

  • You displayed miraculous signs and wonders against Pharaoh, his servants, and all his people, for you knew how arrogantly the Egyptians were treating them. You have a glorious reputation that has never been forgotten. - Nehemiah 9:10

  • Then Pharaoh sent for him and set him free; the ruler of the nation opened his prison door. - Psalms 105:20

  • He performed miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt; Pharaoh and all his people watched. - Psalms 135:9

  • but he hurled Pharaoh and his army into the sea. His faithful love endures forever. - Psalms 136:15

  • What fools are the counselors of Zoan! Their best counsel to the king of Egypt is stupid and wrong. Will they still boast of their wisdom? Will they dare tell Pharaoh about their long line of wise ancestors? - Isaiah 19:11

  • What has happened to your wise counselors, Pharaoh? If they are so wise, let them tell you what the LORD Almighty is going to do to Egypt. - Isaiah 19:12

  • For without consulting me, you have gone down to Egypt to find help. You have put your trust in Pharaoh for his protection. - Isaiah 30:2

  • But in trusting Pharaoh, you will be humiliated and disgraced. - Isaiah 30:3

  • Will Egypt? If you lean on Egypt, you will find it to be a stick that breaks beneath your weight and pierces your hand. The Pharaoh of Egypt is completely unreliable! - Isaiah 36:6

  • I went to Egypt and spoke to Pharaoh, his officials, his princes, and his people. They, too, drank from that terrible cup, - Jeremiah 25:19

  • At this time the army of Pharaoh Hophra* of Egypt appeared at the southern border of Judah. When the Babylonian* army heard about it, they withdrew from their siege of Jerusalem.2 - Jeremiah 37:5

  • "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Tell the king of Judah, who sent you to ask me what is going to happen, that Pharaoh's army is about to return to Egypt, though he came here to help you. - Jeremiah 37:7

  • When the Babylonian army left Jerusalem because of Pharaoh's approaching army, - Jeremiah 37:11
