  • When David heard what Uriah had done, he summoned him and asked, "What's the matter with you? Why didn't you go home last night after being away for so long?" - 2 Samuel 11:10


  • David begged God to spare the child. He went without food and lay all night on the bare ground. - 2 Samuel 12:16


  • You know your father and his men; they are mighty warriors. Right now they are probably as enraged as a mother bear who has been robbed of her cubs. And remember that your father is an experienced soldier. He won't be spending the night among the troops. - 2 Samuel 17:8


  • So David and all the people with him went across the Jordan River during the night, and they were all on the other bank before dawn. - 2 Samuel 17:22

  • That night the angel of the LORD went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian troops. When the surviving Assyrians* woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere.1 - 2 Kings 19:35
