  • Then a section of the city wall was broken down, and all the soldiers made plans to escape from the city. But since the city was surrounded by the Babylonians,* they waited for nightfall and fled through the gate between the two walls behind the king's gardens. They made a dash across the fields, in the direction of the Jordan Valley.*3 - 2 Kings 25:4


  • They would spend the night around the house of God, since it was their duty to guard it. It was also their job to open the gates every morning. - 1 Chronicles 9:27


  • But that same night God said to Nathan, - 1 Chronicles 17:3


  • That night God appeared to Solomon in a dream and said, "What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!" - 2 Chronicles 1:7


  • May you watch over this Temple both day and night, this place where you have said you would put your name. May you always hear the prayers I make toward this place. - 2 Chronicles 6:20


  • Then one night the LORD appeared to Solomon and said, "I have heard your prayer and have chosen this Temple as the place for making sacrifices. - 2 Chronicles 7:12


  • So Jehoram went to attack Edom with his full army and all his chariots. The Edomites surrounded him and his charioteers, but he escaped at night under cover of darkness. - 2 Chronicles 21:9


  • Afterward the Levites prepared a meal for themselves and for the priests, because the priests had been busy from morning till night offering the burnt offerings and the fat portions. The Levites took responsibility for all these preparations. - 2 Chronicles 35:14


  • Then Ezra left the front of the Temple of God and went to the room of Jehohanan son of Eliashib. He spent the night* there, but he did not eat any food or drink. He was still in mourning because of the unfaithfulness of the returned exiles.1 - Ezra 10:6


  • listen to my prayer! Look down and see me praying night and day for your people Israel. I confess that we have sinned against you. Yes, even my own family and I have sinned! - Nehemiah 1:6


  • I slipped out during the night, taking only a few others with me. I had not told anyone about the plans God had put in my heart for Jerusalem. We took no pack animals with us, except the donkey that I myself was riding. - Nehemiah 2:12


  • But we prayed to our God and guarded the city day and night to protect ourselves. - Nehemiah 4:9


  • I also told everyone living outside the walls to move into Jerusalem. That way they and their servants could go on guard duty at night as well as work during the day. - Nehemiah 4:22


  • You led our ancestors by a pillar of cloud during the day and a pillar of fire at night so that they could find their way. - Nehemiah 9:12


  • But in your great mercy you did not abandon them to die in the wilderness. The pillar of cloud still led them forward by day, and the pillar of fire showed them the way through the night. - Nehemiah 9:19


  • "Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I am willing to die." - Esther 4:16


  • That night the king had trouble sleeping, so he ordered an attendant to bring the historical records of his kingdom so they could be read to him. - Esther 6:1
