(Read Nation Part 1 First)

  • "For the LORD has driven out great and powerful nations for you, and no one has yet been able to defeat you. - Joshua 23:9

  • "But if you turn away from him and intermarry with the survivors of these nations remaining among you, - Joshua 23:12

  • It was the LORD who drove out the Amorites and the other nations living here in the land. So we, too, will serve the LORD, for he alone is our God." - Joshua 24:18

  • I will no longer drive out the nations that Joshua left unconquered when he died. - Judges 2:21

  • That is why the LORD did not quickly drive the nations out or allow Joshua to conquer them all. - Judges 2:23

  • The LORD left certain nations in the land to test those Israelites who had not participated in the wars of Canaan. - Judges 3:1

  • These were the nations: the Philistines (those living under the five Philistine rulers), all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites living in the hill country of Lebanon from Mount Baal-hermon to Lebo-hamath. - Judges 3:3

  • Then the leaders and all the people standing there replied, "We are witnesses! May the LORD make the woman who is now coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, from whom all the nation of Israel descended! May you be great in Ephrathah and famous in Bethlehem. - Ruth 4:11

  • "Look," they told him, "you are now old, and your sons are not like you. Give us a king like all the other nations have." - 1 Samuel 8:5

  • "We want to be like the nations around us. Our king will govern us and lead us into battle." - 1 Samuel 8:20

  • And he gave them this message from the LORD, the God of Israel: "I brought you from Egypt and rescued you from the Egyptians and from all of the nations that were oppressing you. - 1 Samuel 10:18

  • The LORD will not abandon his chosen people, for that would dishonor his great name. He made you a special nation for himself. - 1 Samuel 12:22

  • This is what the LORD Almighty says: `I have decided to settle accounts with the nation of Amalek for opposing Israel when they came from Egypt. - 1 Samuel 15:2

  • Now go and completely destroy* the entire Amalekite nation--men, women, children, babies, cattle, sheep, camels, and donkeys.' "1 - 1 Samuel 15:3

  • They mourned and wept and fasted all day for Saul and his son Jonathan, and for the LORD's army and the nation of Israel, because so many had died that day. - 2 Samuel 1:12

  • Then Abner sent messengers to David, saying, "Let's make an agreement, and I will help turn the entire nation of Israel over to you." - 2 Samuel 3:12

  • And I have provided a permanent homeland for my people Israel, a secure place where they will never be disturbed. It will be their own land where wicked nations won't oppress them as they did in the past, - 2 Samuel 7:10
