(Read Nation Part 1 First)

  • Fear not, Jacob, my servant," says the LORD, "for I am with you. I will destroy the nations to which I have exiled you, but I will not destroy you. But I must discipline you; I cannot let you go unpunished." - Jeremiah 46:28

  • No one will ever brag about Moab again, for there is a plot against her life. In Heshbon plans have been completed to destroy her. `Come,' they say, `we will cut her off from being a nation.' The city of Madmen,* too, will be silenced; the sword will follow you there.1 - Jeremiah 48:2

  • Moab will no longer be a nation, for she has boasted against the LORD. - Jeremiah 48:42

  • I have heard a message from the LORD that an ambassador was sent to the nations to say, "Form a coalition against Edom, and prepare for battle!" - Jeremiah 49:14

  • This is what the LORD says: "I will cut you down to size among the nations, Edom. You will be despised by all. - Jeremiah 49:15

  • For a nation will attack her from the north and bring such destruction that no one will live in her again. Everything will be gone; both people and animals will flee. - Jeremiah 50:3

  • For look, I am raising up an army of great nations from the north. I will bring them against Babylon to attack her, and she will be captured. The enemies' arrows will go straight to the mark; they will not miss! - Jeremiah 50:9

  • But your homeland* will be overwhelmed with shame and disgrace. You will become the least of nations--a wilderness, a dry and desolate land.4 - Jeremiah 50:12

  • "Yes, prepare to attack Babylon, all you nations round about. Let your archers shoot at her. Spare no arrows, for she has sinned against the LORD. - Jeremiah 50:14

  • Babylon, the mightiest hammer in all the earth, lies broken and shattered. Babylon is desolate among the nations! - Jeremiah 50:23

  • "Look! A great army is marching from the north! A great nation and many kings are rising against you from far-off lands. - Jeremiah 50:41

  • "You* are my battle-ax and sword," says the LORD. "With you I will shatter nations and destroy many kingdoms.6 - Jeremiah 51:20

  • Signal many nations to mobilize for war against Babylon. Sound the battle cry! Bring out the armies of Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz. Appoint a leader, and bring a multitude of horses! - Jeremiah 51:27

  • And I will punish Bel, the god of Babylon, and pull from his mouth what he has taken. The nations will no longer come and worship him. The wall of Babylon has fallen. - Jeremiah 51:44

  • Jerusalem's streets, once bustling with people, are now silent. Like a widow broken with grief, she sits alone in her mourning. Once the queen of nations, she is now a slave.1 - Lamentations 1:1

  • Judah has been led away into captivity, afflicted and enslaved. She lives among foreign nations and has no place of rest. Her enemies have chased her down, and she has nowhere to turn. - Lamentations 1:3

  • You have discarded us as refuse and garbage among the nations. - Lamentations 3:45
