(Read Mountain Part 1 First)

  • I took your sin--the calf you had made--and I melted it in the fire and ground it into fine dust. I threw the dust into the stream that cascades down the mountain. - Deuteronomy 9:21

  • "At that time the LORD said to me, `Prepare two stone tablets like the first ones, and make a sacred chest of wood to keep them in. Return to me on the mountain, - Deuteronomy 10:1

  • "So I made a chest of acacia wood and cut two stone tablets like the first two, and I took the tablets up the mountain. - Deuteronomy 10:3

  • The LORD again wrote the terms of the covenant--the Ten Commandments--on them and gave them to me. They were the same words the LORD had spoken to you from the heart of the fire on the mountain as you were assembled below. - Deuteronomy 10:4

  • "As I said before, I stayed on the mountain in the LORD's presence for forty days and nights, as I had done the first time. And once again the LORD yielded to my pleas and didn't destroy you. - Deuteronomy 10:10

  • (These two mountains are west of the Jordan River in the land of the Canaanites who live in the Jordan Valley,* near the town of Gilgal. They are located toward the west, not far from the oaks of Moreh.)1 - Deuteronomy 11:30

  • "When you drive out the nations that live there, you must destroy all the places where they worship their gods--high on the mountains, up on the hills, and under every green tree. - Deuteronomy 12:2

  • the deer, the gazelle, the roebuck, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope, and the mountain sheep. - Deuteronomy 14:5

  • "Go to Moab, to the mountains east of the river,* and climb Mount Nebo, which is across from Jericho. Look out across the land of Canaan, the land I am giving to the people of Israel as their own possession.5 - Deuteronomy 32:49

  • Then you must die there on the mountain and join your ancestors, just as Aaron, your brother, died on Mount Hor and joined his ancestors. - Deuteronomy 32:50

  • with the finest crops of the ancient mountains, and the abundance from the everlasting hills; - Deuteronomy 33:15

  • They summon the people to the mountain to offer proper sacrifices there. They benefit from the riches of the sea and the hidden treasures of the sand." - Deuteronomy 33:19

  • from the Negev Desert in the south to the Lebanon mountains in the north, from the Euphrates River on the east to the Mediterranean Sea* on the west, and all the land of the Hittites.'1 - Joshua 1:4

  • Now all the kings west of the Jordan heard about what had happened. (These were the kings of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, who lived in the hill country, in the western foothills,* and along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea* as far north as the Lebanon mountains.)1 - Joshua 9:1

  • So Joshua conquered the whole region--the kings and people of the hill country, the Negev, the western foothills,* and the mountain slopes. He completely destroyed everyone in the land, leaving no survivors, just as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded.1 - Joshua 10:40

  • So Joshua conquered the entire region--the hill country, the Negev, the land of Goshen, the western foothills, the Jordan Valley, and the mountains and lowlands of Israel. - Joshua 11:16
