  • The fifth was Shephatiah, whose mother was Abital. The sixth was Ithream, whose mother was Eglah. - 1 Chronicles 3:3


  • The sons born to David in Jerusalem included Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon. Bathsheba,* the daughter of Ammiel, was the mother of these sons.2 - 1 Chronicles 3:5


  • There was a man named Jabez who was more distinguished than any of his brothers. His mother named him Jabez* because his birth had been so painful.3 - 1 Chronicles 4:9


  • The sons of Ezrah were Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. Mered married an Egyptian woman, who became the mother of Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah (the father of Eshtemoa). - 1 Chronicles 4:17


  • Mered also married a woman of Judah, who became the mother of Jered (the father of Gedor), Heber (the father of Soco), and Jekuthiel (the father of Zanoah). Mered's Egyptian wife was named Bithiah, and she was an Egyptian princess. - 1 Chronicles 4:18


  • King Rehoboam firmly established himself in Jerusalem and continued to rule. He was forty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city the LORD had chosen from among all the tribes of Israel as the place to honor his name. Rehoboam's mother was Naamah, a woman from Ammon. - 2 Chronicles 12:13


  • He reigned in Jerusalem three years. His mother was Maacah,* a daughter of Uriel from Gibeah. Then war broke out between Abijah and Jeroboam.1 - 2 Chronicles 13:2


  • King Asa even deposed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother because she had made an obscene Asherah pole. He cut down the pole, broke it up, and burned it in the Kidron Valley. - 2 Chronicles 15:16


  • So Jehoshaphat ruled over the land of Judah. He was thirty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-five years. His mother was Azubah, the daughter of Shilhi. - 2 Chronicles 20:31


  • Ahaziah was twenty-two* years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem one year. His mother was Athaliah, a granddaughter of King Omri of Israel.1 - 2 Chronicles 22:2


  • Ahaziah also followed the evil example of King Ahab's family, for his mother encouraged him in doing wrong. - 2 Chronicles 22:3


  • When Athaliah, the mother of King Ahaziah of Judah, learned that her son was dead, she set out to destroy the rest of Judah's royal family. - 2 Chronicles 22:10


  • Joash was seven years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. His mother was Zibiah, from Beersheba. - 2 Chronicles 24:1


  • Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years. His mother was Jehoaddin,* from Jerusalem.1 - 2 Chronicles 25:1


  • Uzziah was sixteen when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-two years. His mother was Jecoliah, from Jerusalem. - 2 Chronicles 26:3


  • Jotham was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. His mother was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok. - 2 Chronicles 27:1


  • Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he became the king of Judah, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years. His mother was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah. - 2 Chronicles 29:1
