(Read Moses Part 1 First)

  • They replied, "We did it because we were told that the LORD your God instructed his servant Moses to conquer this entire land and destroy all the people living in it. So we feared for our lives because of you. That is why we have done it. - Joshua 9:24

  • Joshua slaughtered all the other kings and their people, completely destroying them, just as Moses, the servant of the LORD, had commanded. - Joshua 11:12

  • As the LORD had commanded his servant Moses, so Moses commanded Joshua. And Joshua did as he was told, carefully obeying all of the LORD's instructions to Moses. - Joshua 11:15

  • For the LORD hardened their hearts and caused them to fight the Israelites instead of asking for peace. So they were completely and mercilessly destroyed, as the LORD had commanded Moses. - Joshua 11:20

  • So Joshua took control of the entire land, just as the LORD had instructed Moses. He gave it to the people of Israel as their special possession, dividing the land among the tribes. So the land finally had rest from war. - Joshua 11:23

  • Moses, the servant of the LORD, and the Israelites had destroyed the people of King Sihon and King Og. And Moses gave their land to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh. - Joshua 12:6

  • Half the tribe of Manasseh and the tribes of Reuben and Gad had already received their inheritance on the east side of the Jordan, for Moses, the servant of the LORD, had previously assigned this land to them. - Joshua 13:8

  • and all the territory of King Og of Bashan, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei. King Og was the last of the Rephaites, for Moses had attacked them and driven them out. - Joshua 13:12

  • Moses did not assign any land to the tribe of Levi. Instead, as the LORD had promised them, their inheritance came from the offerings burned on the altar to the LORD, the God of Israel. - Joshua 13:14

  • Moses had assigned the following area to the families of the tribe of Reuben. - Joshua 13:15

  • The land of Reuben also included all the towns of the plain and the entire kingdom of Sihon. Sihon was the Amorite king who had reigned in Heshbon and was killed by Moses along with the chiefs of Midian--Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba--princes living in the region who were allied with Sihon. - Joshua 13:21

  • Moses had assigned the following area to the families of the tribe of Gad. - Joshua 13:24

  • Moses had assigned the following area to the families of the half-tribe of Manasseh. - Joshua 13:29

  • These are the allotments Moses had made while he was on the plains of Moab, across the Jordan River, east of Jericho. - Joshua 13:32

  • But Moses gave no land to the tribe of Levi, for the LORD, the God of Israel, had promised to be their inheritance. - Joshua 13:33

  • These nine and a half tribes received their inheritance by means of sacred lots, in accordance with the LORD's command through Moses. - Joshua 14:2

  • Moses had already given an inheritance of land to the two and a half tribes on the east side of the Jordan River. - Joshua 14:3
