  • Then because the plague had stopped, Aaron returned to Moses at the entrance of the Tabernacle. - Numbers 16:50


  • Then the LORD said to Moses, - Numbers 17:1


  • So Moses gave the instructions to the people of Israel, and each of the twelve tribal leaders, including Aaron, brought Moses a staff. - Numbers 17:6


  • Moses put the staffs in the LORD's presence in the Tabernacle of the Covenant.*2 - Numbers 17:7


  • When Moses brought all the staffs out from the LORD's presence, he showed them to the people. Each man claimed his own staff. - Numbers 17:9


  • And the LORD said to Moses: "Place Aaron's staff permanently before the Ark of the Covenant* as a warning to rebels. This should put an end to their complaints against me and prevent any further deaths."3 - Numbers 17:10


  • So Moses did as the LORD commanded him. - Numbers 17:11


  • Then the people of Israel said to Moses, "We are as good as dead! We are ruined! - Numbers 17:12


  • The LORD also told Moses, - Numbers 18:25


  • The LORD said to Moses and Aaron, - Numbers 19:1


  • There was no water for the people to drink at that place, so they rebelled against Moses and Aaron. - Numbers 20:2


  • The people blamed Moses and said, "We wish we had died in the LORD's presence with our brothers! - Numbers 20:3


  • Moses and Aaron turned away from the people and went to the entrance of the Tabernacle,* where they fell face down on the ground. Then the glorious presence of the LORD appeared to them,2 - Numbers 20:6


  • and the LORD said to Moses, - Numbers 20:7


  • So Moses did as he was told. He took the staff from the place where it was kept before the LORD. - Numbers 20:9


  • Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with the staff, and water gushed out. So all the people and their livestock drank their fill. - Numbers 20:11


  • But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "Because you did not trust me enough to demonstrate my holiness to the people of Israel, you will not lead them into the land I am giving them!" - Numbers 20:12
