(Read Master Part 1 First)

  • Do you remember what I told you? `A servant is not greater than the master.' Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you! - John 15:20

  • One day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a demon-possessed slave girl. She was a fortune-teller who earned a lot of money for her masters. - Acts 16:16

  • Her masters' hopes of wealth were now shattered, so they grabbed Paul and Silas and dragged them before the authorities at the marketplace. - Acts 16:19

  • Sin is no longer your master, for you are no longer subject to the law, which enslaves you to sin. Instead, you are free by God's grace. - Romans 6:14

  • Don't you realize that whatever you choose to obey becomes your master? You can choose sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God and receive his approval. - Romans 6:16

  • Now you are free from sin, your old master, and you have become slaves to your new master, righteousness. - Romans 6:18

  • I speak this way, using the illustration of slaves and masters, because it is easy to understand. Before, you let yourselves be slaves of impurity and lawlessness. Now you must choose to be slaves of righteousness so that you will become holy. - Romans 6:19

  • The law is good, then. The trouble is not with the law but with me, because I am sold into slavery, with sin as my master. - Romans 7:14

  • For we are not our own masters when we live or when we die. - Romans 14:7

  • For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. - Ephesians 2:10

  • Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. - Ephesians 6:5

  • Work hard, but not just to please your masters when they are watching. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart. - Ephesians 6:6

  • And in the same way, you masters must treat your slaves right. Don't threaten them; remember, you both have the same Master in heaven, and he has no favorites. - Ephesians 6:9

  • You slaves must obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Obey them willingly because of your reverent fear of the Lord. - Colossians 3:22

  • Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you are serving is Christ. - Colossians 3:24

  • You slave owners must be just and fair to your slaves. Remember that you also have a Master--in heaven. - Colossians 4:1

  • Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. - 1 Timothy 6:1
