(Read Light Part 1 First)

  • The poor and the oppressor have this in common--the LORD gives light to the eyes of both. - Proverbs 29:13

  • She watches for bargains; her lights burn late into the night. - Proverbs 31:18

  • Wisdom is of more value than foolishness, just as light is better than darkness. - Ecclesiastes 2:13

  • How wonderful to be wise, to be able to analyze and interpret things. Wisdom lights up a person's face, softening its hardness. - Ecclesiastes 8:1

  • Never make light of the king, even in your thoughts. And don't make fun of a rich man, either. A little bird may tell them what you have said. - Ecclesiastes 10:20

  • Light is sweet; it's wonderful to see the sun! - Ecclesiastes 11:7

  • It will be too late then to remember him, when the light of the sun and moon and stars is dim to your old eyes, and there is no silver lining left among the clouds. - Ecclesiastes 12:2

  • Come, people of Israel, let us walk in the light of the LORD! - Isaiah 2:5

  • Destruction is certain for those who say that evil is good and good is evil; that dark is light and light is dark; that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter. - Isaiah 5:20

  • The enemy nations will growl over their victims like the roaring of the sea. A cloud of darkness and sorrow will hover over Israel. The clouds will blot out the light. - Isaiah 5:30

  • "Check their predictions against my testimony," says the LORD. "If their predictions are different from mine, it is because there is no light or truth in them. - Isaiah 8:20

  • The people who walk in darkness will see a great light--a light that will shine on all who live in the land where death casts its shadow. - Isaiah 9:2

  • The LORD, the Light of Israel and the Holy One, will be a flaming fire that will destroy them. In a single night he will burn those thorns and briers, the Assyrians. - Isaiah 10:17

  • The heavens will be black above them. No light will shine from stars or sun or moon. - Isaiah 13:10

  • Yet we have this assurance: Those who belong to God will live; their bodies will rise again! Those who sleep in the earth will rise up and sing for joy! For God's light of life will fall like dew on his people in the place of the dead! - Isaiah 26:19

  • He doesn't thresh all his crops the same way. A heavy sledge is never used on dill; rather, it is beaten with a light stick. A threshing wheel is never rolled on cumin; instead, it is beaten softly with a flail. - Isaiah 28:27

  • The moon will be as bright as the sun, and the sun will be seven times brighter--like the light of seven days! So it will be when the LORD begins to heal his people and cure the wounds he gave them. - Isaiah 30:26
