  • When direction from the LORD is needed, Joshua will stand before Eleazar the priest, who will determine the LORD's will by means of sacred lots.* This is how Joshua and the rest of the community of Israel will discover what they should do."4 - Numbers 27:21


  • So Moses did as the LORD commanded and presented Joshua to Eleazar the priest and the whole community. - Numbers 27:22


  • The only exceptions are Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun, for they have wholeheartedly followed the LORD.' - Numbers 32:12


  • So Moses gave orders to Eleazar, Joshua, and the tribal leaders of Israel. - Numbers 32:28


  • "These are the men who are to divide the land among the people: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun. - Numbers 34:17


  • Instead, your assistant, Joshua son of Nun, will lead the people into the land. Encourage him as he prepares to enter it. - Deuteronomy 1:38

  • But the LORD your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy the nations living there, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua is your new leader, and he will go with you, just as the LORD promised. - Deuteronomy 31:3


  • Then Moses called for Joshua, and as all Israel watched he said to him, "Be strong and courageous! For you will lead these people into the land that the LORD swore to give their ancestors. You are the one who will deliver it to them as their inheritance. - Deuteronomy 31:7


  • Then the LORD said to Moses, "The time has come for you to die. Call Joshua and take him with you to the Tabernacle,* and I will commission him there." So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the Tabernacle.2 - Deuteronomy 31:14


  • Then the LORD commissioned Joshua son of Nun with these words: "Be strong and courageous! You must bring the people of Israel into the land I swore to give them. I will be with you." - Deuteronomy 31:23


  • So Moses came with Joshua* son of Nun and recited all the words of this song to the people.4 - Deuteronomy 32:44


  • Now Joshua son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. So the people of Israel obeyed him and did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses. - Deuteronomy 34:9


  • After the death of Moses the LORD's servant, the LORD spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' assistant. He said, - Joshua 1:1


  • Joshua then commanded the leaders of Israel, - Joshua 1:10


  • Then Joshua called together the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh. He told them, - Joshua 1:12
