(Read Jonathan Part 1 First)

  • The king then asked him, "Is anyone still alive from Saul's family? If so, I want to show God's kindness to them in any way I can." Ziba replied, "Yes, one of Jonathan's sons is still alive, but he is crippled." - 2 Samuel 9:3

  • His name was Mephibosheth*; he was Jonathan's son and Saul's grandson. When he came to David, he bowed low in great fear and said, "I am your servant."1 - 2 Samuel 9:6

  • But David said, "Don't be afraid! I've asked you to come so that I can be kind to you because of my vow to your father, Jonathan. I will give you all the land that once belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you may live here with me at the palace!" - 2 Samuel 9:7

  • Then the king told Zadok the priest, "Look,* here is my plan. You and Abiathar* should return quietly to the city with your son Ahimaaz and Abiathar's son Jonathan.4 - 2 Samuel 15:27

  • David spared Jonathan's son Mephibosheth,* who was Saul's grandson, because of the oath David and Jonathan had sworn before the LORD.2 - 2 Samuel 21:7

  • he went to the people of Jabesh-gilead and asked for the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan. (When Saul and Jonathan had died in a battle with the Philistines, it was the people of Jabesh-gilead who had retrieved their bodies from the public square of the Philistine city of Beth-shan.) - 2 Samuel 21:12

  • So David brought the bones of Saul and Jonathan, as well as the bones of the men the Gibeonites had executed. - 2 Samuel 21:13

  • Shammai's brother, Jada, had two sons named Jether and Jonathan. Jether died without children, - 1 Chronicles 2:32

  • but Jonathan had two sons named Peleth and Zaza. These were all descendants of Jerahmeel. - 1 Chronicles 2:33

  • Ner was the father of Kish. Kish was the father of Saul. Saul was the father of Jonathan, Malkishua, Abinadab, and Eshbaal. - 1 Chronicles 8:33
