(Read Jesus Part 1 First)

  • "Tell us who you are," they demanded. Jesus replied, "I am the one I have always claimed to be.*3 - John 8:25

  • So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man on the cross, then you will realize that I am he and that I do nothing on my own, but I speak what the Father taught me. - John 8:28

  • Jesus said to the people* who believed in him, "You are truly my disciples if you keep obeying my teachings.4 - John 8:31

  • Jesus replied, "I assure you that everyone who sins is a slave of sin. - John 8:34

  • "Our father is Abraham," they declared. "No," Jesus replied, "for if you were children of Abraham, you would follow his good example.*1 - John 8:39

  • Jesus told them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, because I have come to you from God. I am not here on my own, but he sent me. - John 8:42

  • "No," Jesus said, "I have no demon in me. For I honor my Father--and you dishonor me. - John 8:49

  • Jesus answered, "If I am merely boasting about myself, it doesn't count. But it is my Father who says these glorious things about me. You say, `He is our God,' - John 8:54

  • Jesus answered, "The truth is, I existed before Abraham was even born!"*3 - John 8:58

  • At that point they picked up stones to kill him. But Jesus hid himself from them and left the Temple. - John 8:59

  • As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. - John 9:1

  • "It was not because of his sins or his parents' sins," Jesus answered. "He was born blind so the power of God could be seen in him. - John 9:3

  • He told them, "The man they call Jesus made mud and smoothed it over my eyes and told me, `Go to the pool of Siloam and wash off the mud.' I went and washed, and now I can see!" - John 9:11

  • Now as it happened, Jesus had healed the man on a Sabbath. - John 9:14

  • Some of the Pharisees said, "This man Jesus is not from God, for he is working on the Sabbath." Others said, "But how could an ordinary sinner do such miraculous signs?" So there was a deep division of opinion among them. - John 9:16

  • They said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, who had announced that anyone saying Jesus was the Messiah would be expelled from the synagogue. - John 9:22

  • So for the second time they called in the man who had been blind and told him, "Give glory to God by telling the truth,* because we know Jesus is a sinner."1 - John 9:24
