  • But Jesus replied, "Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but I, the Son of Man, have no home of my own, not even a place to lay my head." - Luke 9:58


  • Jesus replied, "Let those who are spiritually dead care for their own dead.* Your duty is to go and preach the coming of the Kingdom of God."5 - Luke 9:60


  • But Jesus told him, "Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God." - Luke 9:62


  • Then Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit and said, "O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding the truth from those who think themselves so wise and clever, and for revealing it to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way. - Luke 10:21


  • One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: "Teacher, what must I do to receive eternal life?" - Luke 10:25


  • Jesus replied, "What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?" - Luke 10:26


  • "Right!" Jesus told him. "Do this and you will live!" - Luke 10:28


  • The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" - Luke 10:29


  • Jesus replied with an illustration: "A Jewish man was traveling on a trip from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes and money, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road. - Luke 10:30


  • "Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?" Jesus asked. - Luke 10:36


  • The man replied, "The one who showed him mercy." Then Jesus said, "Yes, now go and do the same." - Luke 10:37


  • As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a village where a woman named Martha welcomed them into her home. - Luke 10:38


  • But Martha was worrying over the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, "Lord, doesn't it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me." - Luke 10:40


  • Once when Jesus had been out praying, one of his disciples came to him as he finished and said, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples." - Luke 11:1


  • One day Jesus cast a demon out of a man who couldn't speak, and the man's voice returned to him. The crowd was amazed, - Luke 11:14


  • Trying to test Jesus, others asked for a miraculous sign from heaven to see if he was from God. - Luke 11:16


  • As the crowd pressed in on Jesus, he said, "These are evil times, and this evil generation keeps asking me to show them a miraculous sign. But the only sign I will give them is the sign of the prophet Jonah. - Luke 11:29
