(Read Jesus Part 1 First)

  • As Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside privately and told them what was going to happen to him. - Matthew 20:17

  • Then the mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus with her sons. She knelt respectfully to ask a favor. - Matthew 20:20

  • But Jesus told them, "You don't know what you are asking! Are you able to drink from the bitter cup of sorrow I am about to drink?" "Oh yes," they replied, "we are able!" - Matthew 20:22

  • But Jesus called them together and said, "You know that in this world kings are tyrants, and officials lord it over the people beneath them. - Matthew 20:25

  • As Jesus and the disciples left the city of Jericho, a huge crowd followed behind. - Matthew 20:29

  • Two blind men were sitting beside the road. When they heard that Jesus was coming that way, they began shouting, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!" - Matthew 20:30

  • Jesus stopped in the road and called, "What do you want me to do for you?" - Matthew 20:32

  • Jesus felt sorry for them and touched their eyes. Instantly they could see! Then they followed him. - Matthew 20:34

  • As Jesus and the disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the town of Bethphage on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead. - Matthew 21:1

  • The two disciples did as Jesus said. - Matthew 21:6

  • Most of the crowd spread their coats on the road ahead of Jesus, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. - Matthew 21:8

  • And the crowds replied, "It's Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee." - Matthew 21:11

  • Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the merchants and their customers. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the stalls of those selling doves. - Matthew 21:12

  • and asked Jesus, "Do you hear what these children are saying?" "Yes," Jesus replied. "Haven't you ever read the Scriptures? For they say, `You have taught children and infants to give you praise.'* "5 - Matthew 21:16

  • In the morning, as Jesus was returning to Jerusalem, he was hungry, - Matthew 21:18

  • Then Jesus told them, "I assure you, if you have faith and don't doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, `May God lift you up and throw you into the sea,' and it will happen. - Matthew 21:21

  • When Jesus returned to the Temple and began teaching, the leading priests and other leaders came up to him. They demanded, "By whose authority did you drive out the merchants from the Temple?* Who gave you such authority?"6 - Matthew 21:23
