  • Joab once again became the commander of David's army. Benaiah son of Jehoiada was commander of the king's bodyguard. - 2 Samuel 20:23


  • There was also Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a valiant warrior from Kabzeel. He did many heroic deeds, which included killing two of Moab's mightiest warriors. Another time he chased a lion down into a pit. Then, despite the snow and slippery ground, he caught the lion and killed it. - 2 Samuel 23:20


  • But among those who remained loyal to David and refused to support Adonijah were Zadok the priest, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, Nathan the prophet, Shimei, Rei, and David's personal bodyguard. - 1 Kings 1:8


  • But I myself, your servant, was not invited; neither were Zadok the priest, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, nor Solomon. - 1 Kings 1:26

  • The king sent him down to Gihon Spring with Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada, protected by the king's bodyguard. They had him ride on the king's own mule, - 1 Kings 1:44


  • So King Solomon ordered Benaiah son of Jehoiada to execute him, and Adonijah was put to death. - 1 Kings 2:25


  • When news of this reached King Solomon, he sent Benaiah son of Jehoiada to execute him. - 1 Kings 2:29


  • So Benaiah son of Jehoiada returned to the sacred tent and killed Joab, and Joab was buried at his home in the wilderness. - 1 Kings 2:34


  • Then, at the king's command, Benaiah son of Jehoiada took Shimei outside and killed him. So the kingdom was now firmly in Solomon's grip. - 1 Kings 2:46


  • Benaiah son of Jehoiada was commander of the army. Zadok and Abiathar were the priests. - 1 Kings 4:4


  • In the seventh year of Athaliah's reign, Jehoiada the priest summoned the commanders, the Carite mercenaries, and the guards to come to the Temple of the LORD. He made a pact with them and made them swear an oath of loyalty there in the LORD's Temple; then he showed them the king's son. - 2 Kings 11:4
