  • These are the names of the Israelites, the descendants of Jacob, who went with him to Egypt: Reuben was Jacob's oldest son. - Genesis 46:8


  • He told his people, "These Israelites are becoming a threat to us because there are so many of them. - Exodus 1:9

  • Years passed, and the king of Egypt died. But the Israelites still groaned beneath their burden of slavery. They cried out for help, and their pleas for deliverance rose up to God. - Exodus 2:23

  • "Therefore, say to the Israelites: `I am the LORD, and I will free you from your slavery in Egypt. I will redeem you with mighty power and great acts of judgment. - Exodus 6:6


  • When I show the Egyptians my power and force them to let the Israelites go, they will realize that I am the LORD." - Exodus 7:5


  • But it will be very different in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites live. No flies will be found there. Then you will know that I am the LORD and that I have power even in the heart of your land. - Exodus 8:22
