(Read Israelites Part 1 First)

  • So the Israelites did just as the LORD had commanded Moses and removed such people from the camp. - Numbers 5:4

  • All the sacred gifts that the Israelites bring to a priest will belong to him. - Numbers 5:9

  • This is how Aaron and his sons will designate the Israelites as my people,* and I myself will bless them."2 - Numbers 6:27

  • "Of all the people of Israel, the Levites are reserved for me. I have claimed them for myself in place of all the firstborn sons of the Israelites; I have taken the Levites as their substitutes. - Numbers 8:16

  • And of all the Israelites, I have assigned the Levites to Aaron and his sons. They will serve in the Tabernacle on behalf of the Israelites and make atonement for them so no plague will strike them when they approach the sanctuary." - Numbers 8:19

  • The LORD gave these instructions to Moses in early spring,* during the second year after Israel's departure from Egypt, while he and the rest of the Israelites were in the wilderness of Sinai:1 - Numbers 9:1

  • "Tell the Israelites to celebrate the Passover at the proper time, - Numbers 9:2

  • and said, "We have become ceremonially unclean by touching a dead person. But why should we be excluded from presenting the LORD's offering at the proper time with the rest of the Israelites?" - Numbers 9:7

  • "Say to the Israelites: `If any of the people now or in future generations are ceremonially unclean at Passover time because of touching a dead body, or if they are on a journey and cannot be present at the ceremony, they may still celebrate the LORD's Passover. - Numbers 9:10

  • If the cloud remained over the Tabernacle for a long time, the Israelites stayed for a long time, just as the LORD commanded. - Numbers 9:19

  • So the Israelites set out from the wilderness of Sinai and traveled on in stages until the cloud stopped in the wilderness of Paran. - Numbers 10:12

  • Then the foreign rabble who were traveling with the Israelites began to crave the good things of Egypt, and the people of Israel also began to complain. "Oh, for some meat!" they exclaimed. - Numbers 11:4

  • From there the Israelites traveled to Hazeroth, where they stayed for some time. - Numbers 11:35

  • At that time the Israelites renamed the valley Eshcol--"cluster"--because of the cluster of grapes they had cut there. - Numbers 13:24

  • So they spread discouraging reports about the land among the Israelites: "The land we explored will swallow up any who go to live there. All the people we saw were huge. - Numbers 13:32

  • But the whole community began to talk about stoning Joshua and Caleb. Then the glorious presence of the LORD appeared to all the Israelites from above the Tabernacle.*1 - Numbers 14:10

  • "How long will this wicked nation complain about me? I have heard everything the Israelites have been saying. - Numbers 14:27
