(Read Israel Part 1 First)

  • Then Moses and the leaders of Israel charged the people as follows: "Keep all these commands that I am giving you today. - Deuteronomy 27:1

  • Then Moses and the Levitical priests addressed all Israel as follows: "O Israel, be quiet and listen! Today you have become the people of the LORD your God. - Deuteronomy 27:9

  • Then the Levites must shout to all the people of Israel: - Deuteronomy 27:14

  • All of you--your tribal leaders, your judges, your officers, all the men of Israel--are standing today before the LORD your God. - Deuteronomy 29:10

  • The LORD your God is making this covenant with you who stand in his presence today and also with all future generations of Israel. - Deuteronomy 29:15

  • The LORD will separate them from all the tribes of Israel, to pour out on them all the covenant curses recorded in this Book of the Law. - Deuteronomy 29:21

  • When Moses had finished saying* these things to all the people of Israel,1 - Deuteronomy 31:1

  • Then Moses called for Joshua, and as all Israel watched he said to him, "Be strong and courageous! For you will lead these people into the land that the LORD swore to give their ancestors. You are the one who will deliver it to them as their inheritance. - Deuteronomy 31:7

  • So Moses wrote down this law and gave it to the priests, who carried the Ark of the LORD's covenant, and to the leaders of Israel. - Deuteronomy 31:9

  • you must read this law to all the people of Israel when they assemble before the LORD your God at the place he chooses. - Deuteronomy 31:11

  • "Now write down the words of this song, and teach it to the people of Israel. Teach them to sing it, so it may serve as a witness against them. - Deuteronomy 31:19

  • Then the LORD commissioned Joshua son of Nun with these words: "Be strong and courageous! You must bring the people of Israel into the land I swore to give them. I will be with you." - Deuteronomy 31:23

  • "Take this Book of the Law and place it beside the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD your God, so it may serve as a witness against the people of Israel. - Deuteronomy 31:26

  • So Moses recited this entire song to the assembly of Israel: - Deuteronomy 31:30

  • For the people of Israel belong to the LORD; Jacob is his special possession. - Deuteronomy 32:9

  • But Israel* soon became fat and unruly; the people grew heavy, plump, and stuffed! Then they abandoned the God who had made them; they made light of the Rock of their salvation.4 - Deuteronomy 32:15

  • When Moses had finished reciting these words to Israel, - Deuteronomy 32:45
