(Read Isaiah Part 1 First)

  • "What did they see in your palace?" asked Isaiah. "They saw everything," Hezekiah replied. "I showed them everything I own--all my treasures." - Isaiah 39:4


  • Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Listen to this message from the LORD Almighty: - Isaiah 39:5


  • Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, "This message you have given me from the LORD is good." But the king was thinking, "At least there will be peace and security during my lifetime." - Isaiah 39:8


  • Isaiah had spoken of John when he said, "He is a voice shouting in the wilderness: `Prepare a pathway for the Lord's coming! Make a straight road for him!' "*2 - Matthew 3:3


  • This fulfilled Isaiah's prophecy: - Matthew 4:14


  • This fulfilled the word of the Lord through Isaiah, who said, "He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases."*1 - Matthew 8:17


  • This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah concerning him: - Matthew 12:17


  • This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah, which says: `You will hear my words, but you will not understand; you will see what I do, but you will not perceive its meaning.1 - Matthew 13:14


  • You hypocrites! Isaiah was prophesying about you when he said, - Matthew 15:7


  • In the book of the prophet Isaiah, God said, "Look, I am sending my messenger before you, and he will prepare your way.*2 - Mark 1:2


  • Jesus replied, "You hypocrites! Isaiah was prophesying about you when he said, - Mark 7:6


  • Isaiah had spoken of John when he said, "He is a voice shouting in the wilderness: `Prepare a pathway for the Lord's coming! Make a straight road for him!3 - Luke 3:4


  • The scroll containing the messages of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him, and he unrolled the scroll to the place where it says: - Luke 4:17


  • John replied in the words of Isaiah: "I am a voice shouting in the wilderness, `Prepare a straight pathway for the Lord's coming!' "*6 - John 1:23


  • This is exactly what Isaiah the prophet had predicted: "Lord, who has believed our message? To whom will the Lord reveal his saving power?"*1 - John 12:38


  • But the people couldn't believe, for as Isaiah also said, - John 12:39


  • Isaiah was referring to Jesus when he made this prediction, because he was given a vision of the Messiah's glory. - John 12:41
