  • It is like a person who builds a house on a strong foundation laid upon the underlying rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against the house, it stands firm because it is well built. - Luke 6:48


  • But anyone who listens and doesn't obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will crumble into a heap of ruins." - Luke 6:49


  • So Jesus went with them. But just before they arrived at the house, the officer sent some friends to say, "Lord, don't trouble yourself by coming to my home, for I am not worthy of such an honor. - Luke 7:6


  • And when the officer's friends returned to his house, they found the slave completely healed. - Luke 7:10


  • "No one would light a lamp and then cover it up or put it under a bed. No, lamps are mounted in the open, where they can be seen by those entering the house. - Luke 8:16


  • When they arrived at the house, Jesus wouldn't let anyone go in with him except Peter, James, John, and the little girl's father and mother. - Luke 8:51


  • The house was filled with people weeping and wailing, but he said, "Stop the weeping! She isn't dead; she is only asleep." - Luke 8:52


  • Then, teaching them more about prayer, he used this illustration: "Suppose you went to a friend's house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You would say to him, - Luke 11:5


  • Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear! - Luke 12:3


  • "Know this: A homeowner who knew exactly when a burglar was coming would not permit the house to be broken into. - Luke 12:39


  • And the Lord replied, "I'm talking to any faithful, sensible servant to whom the master gives the responsibility of managing his household and feeding his family. - Luke 12:42


  • but when the head of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. Then you will stand outside knocking and pleading, `Lord, open the door for us!' But he will reply, `I do not know you.' - Luke 13:25


  • And now look, your house is left to you empty. And you will never see me again until you say, `Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord!'* "1 - Luke 13:35


  • So his master said, `Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. - Luke 14:23


  • "Or suppose a woman has ten valuable silver coins* and loses one. Won't she light a lamp and look in every corner of the house and sweep every nook and cranny until she finds it?1 - Luke 15:8


  • "But his father said to the servants, `Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger, and sandals for his feet. - Luke 15:22


  • "Meanwhile, the older son was in the fields working. When he returned home, he heard music and dancing in the house, - Luke 15:25
