  • When all Israel realized that the king had rejected their request, they shouted, "Down with David and his dynasty! We have no share in Jesse's son! Let's go home, Israel! Look out for your own house, O David!" So all Israel returned home. - 2 Chronicles 10:16


  • "Those who violate this decree in any way will have a beam pulled from their house. Then they will be tied to it and flogged, and their house will be reduced to a pile of rubble.*2 - Ezra 6:11


  • And please send a letter to Asaph, the manager of the king's forest, instructing him to give me timber. I will need it to make beams for the gates of the Temple fortress, for the city walls, and for a house for myself." And the king granted these requests, because the gracious hand of God was on me. - Nehemiah 2:8


  • Next Jedaiah son of Harumaph repaired the wall beside his own house, and next to him was Hattush son of Hashabneiah. - Nehemiah 3:10


  • Next to him was Nehemiah son of Azbuk, the leader of half the district of Beth-zur. He rebuilt the wall to a place opposite the royal cemetery as far as the water reservoir and the House of the Warriors. - Nehemiah 3:16


  • Meremoth son of Uriah and grandson of Hakkoz rebuilt another section of the wall extending from a point opposite the door of Eliashib's house to the side of the house. - Nehemiah 3:21


  • After them, Benjamin, Hasshub, and Azariah son of Maaseiah and grandson of Ananiah repaired the sections next to their own houses. - Nehemiah 3:23


  • Next was Binnui son of Henadad, who rebuilt another section of the wall from Azariah's house to the buttress and the corner. - Nehemiah 3:24


  • Palal son of Uzai carried on the work from a point opposite the buttress and the corner to the upper tower that projects from the king's house beside the court of the guard. Next to him were Pedaiah son of Parosh - Nehemiah 3:25


  • The priests repaired the wall up the hill from the Horse Gate, each one doing the section immediately opposite his own house. - Nehemiah 3:28


  • Next Zadok son of Immer also rebuilt the wall next to his own house, and beyond him was Shemaiah son of Shecaniah, the gatekeeper of the East Gate. - Nehemiah 3:29


  • Next Hananiah son of Shelemiah and Hanun, the sixth son of Zalaph, repaired another section, while Meshullam son of Berekiah rebuilt the wall next to his own house. - Nehemiah 3:30


  • At that time the city was large and spacious, but the population was small. And only a few houses were scattered throughout the city. - Nehemiah 7:4


  • So the people went out and cut branches and used them to build shelters on the roofs of their houses, in their courtyards, in the courtyards of God's Temple, or in the squares just inside the Water Gate and the Ephraim Gate. - Nehemiah 8:16
