  • He is the one who will build a house--a temple--for my name. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. - 2 Samuel 7:13

  • But the king gave this order: "Absalom may go to his own house, but he must never come into my presence." So Absalom did not see the king. - 2 Samuel 14:24


  • So the king and his household set out at once. He left no one behind except ten of his concubines to keep the palace in order. - 2 Samuel 15:16


  • Ahithophel told him, "Go and sleep with your father's concubines, for he has left them here to keep the house. Then all Israel will know that you have insulted him beyond hope of reconciliation, and they will give you their support." - 2 Samuel 16:21


  • They all crossed the ford and worked hard ferrying the king's household across the river, helping them in every way they could. As the king was about to cross the river, Shimei fell down before him. - 2 Samuel 19:18


  • When the king arrived at his palace in Jerusalem, he instructed that the ten concubines he had left to keep house should be placed in seclusion. Their needs were to be cared for, he said, but he would no longer sleep with them. So each of them lived like a widow until she died. - 2 Samuel 20:3


  • The king then sent for Shimei and told him, "Build a house here in Jerusalem and live there. But don't step outside the city to go anywhere else. - 1 Kings 2:36


  • "Please, my lord," one of them began, "this woman and I live in the same house. I gave birth to a baby while she was with me in the house. - 1 Kings 3:17


  • Three days later, she also had a baby. We were alone; there were only two of us in the house. - 1 Kings 3:18


  • Solomon also had twelve district governors who were over all Israel. They were responsible for providing food from the people for the king's household. Each of them arranged provisions for one month of the year. - 1 Kings 4:7
