  • "I assure you, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the most insignificant person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is! - Matthew 11:11


  • And from the time John the Baptist began preaching and baptizing until now, the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing, and violent people attack it.*3 - Matthew 11:12


  • And you people of Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be brought down to the place of the dead.* For if the miracles I did for you had been done in Sodom, it would still be here today.5 - Matthew 11:23


  • Then Jesus prayed this prayer: "O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding the truth from those who think themselves so wise and clever, and for revealing it to the childlike. - Matthew 11:25


  • Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!" - Matthew 12:50


  • Then he explained to them, "You have been permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others have not. - Matthew 13:11


  • Here is another story Jesus told: "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a farmer who planted good seed in his field. - Matthew 13:24


  • Here is another illustration Jesus used: "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. - Matthew 13:31


  • Jesus also used this illustration: "The Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast used by a woman making bread. Even though she used a large amount* of flour, the yeast permeated every part of the dough."1 - Matthew 13:33


  • "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field--and to get the treasure, too! - Matthew 13:44


  • "Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a pearl merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. - Matthew 13:45


  • "Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a fishing net that is thrown into the water and gathers fish of every kind. - Matthew 13:47


  • Then he added, "Every teacher of religious law who has become a disciple in the Kingdom of Heaven is like a person who brings out of the storehouse the new teachings as well as the old." - Matthew 13:52


  • Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. And he took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and asked God's blessing on the food. Breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave some of the bread and fish to each disciple, and the disciples gave them to the people. - Matthew 14:19


  • Jesus replied, "Every plant not planted by my heavenly Father will be rooted up, - Matthew 15:13


  • One day the Pharisees and Sadducees came to test Jesus' claims by asking him to show them a miraculous sign from heaven. - Matthew 16:1


  • Jesus replied, "You are blessed, Simon son of John,* because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being.3 - Matthew 16:17
