(Read Guard Part 1 First)

  • So the guards accepted the bribe and said what they were told to say. Their story spread widely among the Jews, and they still tell it today. - Matthew 28:15

  • Judas had given them a prearranged signal: "You will know which one to arrest when I go over and give him the kiss of greeting. Then you can take him away under guard." - Mark 14:44

  • Meanwhile, Peter followed far behind and then slipped inside the gates of the high priest's courtyard. For a while he sat with the guards, warming himself by the fire. - Mark 14:54

  • Then some of them began to spit at him, and they blindfolded him and hit his face with their fists. "Who hit you that time, you prophet?" they jeered. And even the guards were hitting him as they led him away. - Mark 14:65

  • The leading priests and Pharisees had given Judas a battalion of Roman soldiers and Temple guards to accompany him. Now with blazing torches, lanterns, and weapons, they arrived at the olive grove. - John 18:3

  • So the soldiers, their commanding officer, and the Temple guards arrested Jesus and tied him up. - John 18:12

  • The guards and the household servants were standing around a charcoal fire they had made because it was cold. And Peter stood there with them, warming himself. - John 18:18

  • One of the Temple guards standing there struck Jesus on the face. "Is that the way to answer the high priest?" he demanded. - John 18:22

  • When they saw him, the leading priests and Temple guards began shouting, "Crucify! Crucify!" "You crucify him," Pilate said. "I find him not guilty." - John 19:6
