  • So I am planning to build a Temple to honor the name of the LORD my God, just as he instructed my father that I should do. For the LORD told him, `Your son, whom I will place on your throne, will build the Temple to honor my name.' - 1 Kings 5:5


  • "Concerning this Temple you are building, if you keep all my laws and regulations and obey all my commands, I will fulfill through you the promise I made to your father, David. - 1 Kings 6:12


  • for he was a craftsman skilled in bronze work. He was half Israelite, since his mother was a widow from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father had been a foundry worker from Tyre. So he came to work for King Solomon. - 1 Kings 7:14


  • So King Solomon finished all his work on the Temple of the LORD. Then Solomon brought all the gifts his father, David, had dedicated--the silver, the gold, and the other utensils--and he stored them in the treasuries of the LORD's Temple. - 1 Kings 7:51


  • "Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who has kept the promise he made to my father, David. - 1 Kings 8:15


  • For he told my father, `From the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have never chosen a city among the tribes of Israel as the place where a temple should be built to honor my name. But now I have chosen David to be king over my people.' " - 1 Kings 8:16


  • Then Solomon said, "My father, David, wanted to build this Temple to honor the name of the LORD, the God of Israel. - 1 Kings 8:17


  • "And now the LORD has done what he promised, for I have become king in my father's place. I have built this Temple to honor the name of the LORD, the God of Israel. - 1 Kings 8:20


  • You have kept your promise to your servant David, my father. You made that promise with your own mouth, and today you have fulfilled it with your own hands. - 1 Kings 8:24


  • And now, O LORD, God of Israel, carry out your further promise to your servant David, my father. For you said to him, `If your descendants guard their behavior as you have done, they will always reign over Israel.' - 1 Kings 8:25


  • Now, O God of Israel, fulfill this promise to your servant David, my father. - 1 Kings 8:26


  • As for you, if you will follow me with integrity and godliness, as David your father did, always obeying my commands and keeping my laws and regulations, - 1 Kings 9:4


  • then I will establish the throne of your dynasty over Israel forever. For I made this promise to your father, David: `You will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.' - 1 Kings 9:5


  • In Solomon's old age, they turned his heart to worship their gods instead of trusting only in the LORD his God, as his father, David, had done. - 1 Kings 11:4


  • Thus, Solomon did what was evil in the LORD's sight; he refused to follow the LORD completely, as his father, David, had done. - 1 Kings 11:6


  • But for the sake of your father, David, I will not do this while you are still alive. I will take the kingdom away from your son. - 1 Kings 11:12


  • But Hadad and a few of his father's royal officials had fled. (Hadad was a very small child at the time.) - 1 Kings 11:17
