(Read Eleazar Part 1 First)

  • Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, replied to them, "Today we know the LORD is among us because you have not sinned against the LORD as we thought. Instead, you have rescued Israel from being destroyed by the LORD." - Joshua 22:31


  • Then Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, and the ten high officials left the tribes of Reuben and Gad in Gilead and returned to the land of Canaan to tell the Israelites what had happened. - Joshua 22:32


  • Eleazar son of Aaron also died. He was buried in the hill country of Ephraim, in the town of Gibeah, which had been given to his son Phinehas. - Joshua 24:33


  • So the men of Kiriath-jearim came to get the Ark of the LORD. They took it to the hillside home of Abinadab and ordained Eleazar, his son, to be in charge of it. - 1 Samuel 7:1


  • Next in rank among the Three was Eleazar son of Dodai, a descendant of Ahoah. Once Eleazar and David stood together against the Philistines when the entire Israelite army had fled. - 2 Samuel 23:9


  • The children of Amram were Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. - 1 Chronicles 6:3


  • Eleazar was the father of Phinehas. Phinehas was the father of Abishua. - 1 Chronicles 6:4


  • The descendants of Aaron were Eleazar, Phinehas, Abishua, - 1 Chronicles 6:50


  • Phinehas son of Eleazar had been in charge of the gatekeepers in earlier times, and the LORD had been with him. - 1 Chronicles 9:20


  • Next in rank among the Three was Eleazar son of Dodai,* a descendant of Ahoah.3 - 1 Chronicles 11:12


  • But Eleazar and David held their ground in the middle of the field and beat back the Philistines. So the LORD saved them by giving them a great victory. - 1 Chronicles 11:14


  • The descendants of Merari included Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli were Eleazar and Kish. - 1 Chronicles 23:21


  • Eleazar died with no sons, only daughters. His daughters married their cousins, the sons of Kish. - 1 Chronicles 23:22


  • This is how Aaron's descendants, the priests, were divided into groups for service. The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. - 1 Chronicles 24:1


  • But Nadab and Abihu died before their father did, and they had no sons. So only Eleazar and Ithamar were left to carry on as priests. - 1 Chronicles 24:2


  • With the help of Zadok, who was a descendant of Eleazar, and of Ahimelech, who was a descendant of Ithamar, David divided Aaron's descendants into groups according to their various duties. - 1 Chronicles 24:3


  • Eleazar's descendants were divided into sixteen groups and Ithamar's into eight, for there were more family leaders among the descendants of Eleazar. - 1 Chronicles 24:4
