(Read Disciple Part 1 First)

  • When Jesus returned to the house where he was staying, the crowds began to gather again, and soon he and his disciples couldn't even find time to eat. - Mark 3:20

  • Later, when Jesus was alone with the twelve disciples and with the others who were gathered around, they asked him, "What do your stories mean?" - Mark 4:10

  • In fact, in his public teaching he taught only with parables, but afterward when he was alone with his disciples, he explained the meaning to them. - Mark 4:34

  • As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's cross to the other side of the lake." - Mark 4:35

  • His disciples said to him, "All this crowd is pressing around you. How can you ask, `Who touched me?' " - Mark 5:31

  • The crowd laughed at him, but he told them all to go outside. Then he took the girl's father and mother and his three disciples into the room where the girl was lying. - Mark 5:40

  • Jesus left that part of the country and returned with his disciples to Nazareth, his hometown. - Mark 6:1

  • And he called his twelve disciples together and sent them out two by two, with authority to cast out evil spirits. - Mark 6:7

  • So the disciples went out, telling all they met to turn from their sins. - Mark 6:12

  • When John's disciples heard what had happened, they came for his body and buried it in a tomb. - Mark 6:29

  • Late in the afternoon his disciples came to him and said, "This is a desolate place, and it is getting late. - Mark 6:35

  • Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and asked God's blessing on the food. Breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples to give to the people. - Mark 6:41

  • Immediately after this, Jesus made his disciples get back into the boat and head out across the lake to Bethsaida, while he sent the people home. - Mark 6:45

  • During the night, the disciples were in their boat out in the middle of the lake, and Jesus was alone on land. - Mark 6:47

  • They noticed that some of Jesus' disciples failed to follow the usual Jewish ritual of hand washing before eating. - Mark 7:2

  • So the Pharisees and teachers of religious law asked him, "Why don't your disciples follow our age-old customs? For they eat without first performing the hand-washing ceremony." - Mark 7:5

  • Then Jesus went into a house to get away from the crowds, and his disciples asked him what he meant by the statement he had made. - Mark 7:17
